Coffee Mug Exchange Fun w/The Enchanting Rose!

Coffee Mug Exchange Fun w/The Enchanting Rose!

Most of our readers are aware of how much I enjoy coffee!  But the truth is that I enjoy tea almost as much as coffee.  And I also enjoy a variety of mugs and teacups.  That’s why I was excited to join the recent teacup/mug exchange that was hosted by Stephanie at The Enchanting Rose.  Abigail and I participated last year and really enjoyed being a part of the swap.  This year I had kind of forgotten about it so my decision to join was spur of the moment but I’m glad I did!

Somehow I forgot to take pictures of the things that I sent to my swap partner.  Perhaps she will share it on a blog post for Stephanie’s big reveal – a linkup on her blog that will be hosted on Wednesday.

But this is what I received in the mail.  Rebekah is the young lady who was given my name – she is from Missouri and is close in age to me 🙂 Read more

Sharing Pictures and Memories of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) 2015

Hello dear friends!

During late September/early October, our family went camping to celebrate Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles).  Our family has been observing this Biblical festival for 21 years and each year it is such a blessing.

We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park – which is a very beautiful park with many different activity options for all ages!  Throughout the whole week, there were around 40-50 of us … we had people come from all parts of the United States.  We had friends from Maine, Indiana, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, South Carolina, of course from Tennessee, and even a guy from California.

We built a community Sukkah together …sukkah (1)

One day most of us went boating on the lake – it was gorgeous!  Some of us enjoyed peacefully canoeing on the lake … while some of the others enjoyed themselves by having water fights and boat wars 🙂

We went on so many trailer rides together!  It was so much fun … especially when someone started a song or we started waving to everyone who passed 🙂

For those of you who have not been to Fall Creek Falls, the people in this picture are standing on a lookout ledge that drops off hundreds of feet!  The view from “the point” is truly amazing and it is equally amazing to think of the awesome Creator who created such a magnificent earth!  I am reminded of two songs: Creation Calls and God of Wonders.

It was not always beautiful and sunshiny … actually, for the first half of our time there, it rained!  But the rain did not dampen the spirits of those there (although we were EXTREMELY happy when the sun shone again!)  We rejoiced anyways and we sang and read Scriptures in the rain.  One day we went to the pavilion across the field and danced for hours.  Sometimes people played games.group pics (3)

Twice during our stay groups of people went to get firewood!  We would fill our 16 foot trailer with large chunks of wood and then bring them back and split and stack it so that we could have campfires roaring!  It did not take very long because, as the old saying goes, “Many hands make light work”!firewood (2)

I cannot tell you how many volleyball games were played!

One morning we went to the swimming hole!  Some of the group went swimming while the rest of us talked together and watched them shiver 😉

Oh!  One day a young wild deer walked up and several of the people were able to feed it!  It was so amazing being so close to it … a few of us even got to touch it!

I love this picture, it reminds me of Titus 2:3-5, “T he older women likewise … that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.”

We did so many fun things together, it is hard to list them all because I don’t want this to turn into a book 🙂

We had a very blessed time and the verse from Psalm 133, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity,” really came alive! families (12)

Teacup And Mug Exchange Reveal!

445304cc-6a2b-4b04-9918-c325d4879a94_zpsrc1ni6hmHey everyone!  Recently Stephanie, over at The Enchanting Rose, hosted a teacup/mug and gift exchange, and Hannah and I decided to join!  I was a little nervous about doing it and thought it would be very hard and complicated, but it was so simple and easy to do and I had so much fun participating!

Hannah did the mug exchange, and I did both.  Looking back, maybe I should have stuck with just one, since it was a little bit of a challenge doing both while moving from one farm to another, but I couldn’t decide which to do and am so glad I was able to make two new friends!

I’ll start with my teacup!  I was having a bit of a rough day when this came in the mail, so getting this sweet package was very special!  Ashley (my partner) is actually my age and it was neat to find out that we have a lot in common!
