Modest Outfit By Ruthie – Hot Pinks, Bright Blues & Pretty Ruffles!

Ever since Ruthie was little, she has always liked big, bold patterns and bright colors!  Her style has always been unique and a bit different from the rest of us girls 🙂  With her sewing skills and talent with using fabric, she manages to put together outfits that suit her tastes and most of us usually agree that they are pretty!

Pardon the photo-bomber!  Cricket (who belongs to Ruthie) decided that she wanted to be in the pictures too!  The pink cardigan used to belong to Abigail and she purchased it from eBay years ago.  Apparently the listing no longer exists but you can find a similar one on Amazon.  Ruthie bought the light blue top from Abigail for $5 – it originally came from Goodwill 🙂 Modest Outfit By Ruthie - Hot Pinks, Bright Blues & Pretty Ruffles!

Abigail bought this skirt from a thrift store for a few dollars and planned to give it to Lydia.  She didn’t care for it so much so it ended up being a hand-me-up for Ruthie!  It originally had a crocheted blue tier on the bottom also but it would snag on things, so she took it off.Modest Outfit By Ruthie - Hot Pinks, Bright Blues & Pretty Ruffles!

See the pretty sleeves on the cardigan?  And the ruffle flowers on the collar of the top?  Those are the type of little touches that Ruthie really likes!Modest Outfit By Ruthie - Hot Pinks, Bright Blues & Pretty Ruffles!

We purchased the headcovering in Israel many years ago.  It’s very hard to find this color nowadays, which is sad because I would like to stock it on our shop.  She is wearing the Lovely Circle bobby pins, which we use often.  I like how they are simple but elegant.Modest Outfit By Ruthie - Hot Pinks, Bright Blues & Pretty Ruffles!

Another accessory!  Have you ever wondered how to hold together the loose ends of a cardigan?  Ruthie uses a flexi-clip on hers!  This one is an x-small Freestyle Tiara.Modest Outfit By Ruthie - Hot Pinks, Bright Blues & Pretty Ruffles!

And one more just because!  No actually, this photo was taken because we are updating our puppy website and needed new bio photos for the family page 🙂Modest Outfit By Ruthie - Hot Pinks, Bright Blues & Pretty Ruffles!

  1. The head covering that was purchased in Israel I believe is now being carried by Wrapunzel.com. They list them as Israeli Tichels, I believe. Worth taking a look at I believe.

    1. Thanks for the link… funny timing though, a friend had just been asking if o had heard of that site, a few days before 🙂
They have a lot to offer. It reminds me of watching Orthodox girls wrapping head coverings in a Jerusalem shop. So much talent and creativity!

  2. That’s a lovely outfit on you, Ruthie! I especially like what you did with the ends of the cardigan. I mean, why is there all that excess material anyhow? 😉

    1. The cardigan ends used to be such a pain:)

I used to hold them with a prolife baby’s feet brooch – but that was poking holes in the fabric, no matter how carful I tried to be.
I tried holding the ends with a flexi clip – but that eventually stretched the fabric.
I wore it open sometimes – but that wasn’t the most practical for moving around.
Then I saw Sarah wearing a cardigan with the ends tied together. It was so simple but nice!
I tried it – but guess I was too active… it kept coming undone:).

FINALLY, I combined the simple tie and the flexi clip and WALA, no more trouble! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. Oh yes, her puppies do look adorable- and maybe a bit mischievous too? I like looking at pictures of all your different puppies! Are Cricket’s ones pure Labrador?

    1. Oppps! Sorry for the late reply somehow I did not see your question. Yes, the puppies are 100% Labradors 🙂

Cricket is a registered yellow lab, but is more of the rare red color. The AKC registers yellows, chocolates and blacks. Under that “yellow” though, you can have anything from pure white, yellow, or dark red.
