A Call To Prayer And Fasting

A Call To Prayer And Fasting - Temple Mount Ascension

Many people have heard this simple child’s prayer at some point in their life.  Few seriously give much thought about a child dying in their sleep.  For Hallel Ariel, a 13 year old Israeli girl, this prayer became a reality.

A Call To Prayer And Fasting - Temple Mount Ascension

On Thursday June 30th, she was brutally stabbed to death in her sleep, by a 17 year old Palestinian  man, who jumped the fence that encircled her Israeli community.  On a side note, after living in Israel we noticed how the Israeli communities had fences around them and the Arab communities did not.  Why?  Israelis generally don’t go into Arab areas to murder innocent people.

And as the grief over this inhuman attack stupefied the Israeli people, some Palestinians added to the insanity the next day by murdering a husband and father of 10 children – Michael “Miki” Mark, age 48, as he drove home on Friday July 1st.  His wife was seriously injured along with one of his children.

Did you hear about this?

The Israeli people REGULARLY endure terror attacks that kill and injure innocent people.  Often our media and political officials, along with most of the rest of the world, ignore these attacks.

Hallel’s mother stated, “There is a direct line from [the Muslim monopoly on the Temple Mount] to the murder of my daughter,” she told Netanyahu. “This is not something disconnected. It is one and the same. If they receive a prize, if they violently riot and I [as a Jew] am chased off the Mount [by my government], then they come to my house and murder my daughter.”

Throughout Scripture we see that the Heavenly Father places great importance on Jerusalem and the temple area.

“But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there;” – 2 Chronicles 6:6

“At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of YHWH; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of YHWH, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart” – Jeremiah 3:17

The Temple Mount, where the former temples stood and the future temple will be built, is recognized as a holy site for the Jewish people.  And yet since the area is under Muslim control, they are often not allowed to visit there and when they are, they receive much harassment.  The following video was taken by my son while he was on the Temple Mount last year – it’s just a glimpse of the hatred that is directed toward the Jewish people when they try to come to this area to pray.

Hallel’s family has put forth a call for a mass ascension to the Temple Mount next Tuesday July 12, at 8:30 AM.  A short ceremony will be held beforehand in memory of Hallel.  They have requested that people around the world pray at that time for the Jewish people to return to their home on the Temple Mount.  You can read more about their goals and desires here.

The Temple Mount is probably the most volatile spot on this earth, spiritually and physically.  It is where the heavenly Father allowed His Temple to be built so He could dwell with His people.  It is where the worshipers of Allah try to claim ownership and try to keep the Israeli people from what is rightfully theirs.

That is why I am asking you sisters out there to consider joining me in prayer and fasting for what will be happening on Tuesday July 12 at 8:30 AM.  Israel is ahead of the USA time zone, so this would be happening Tuesday at 1:30am Eastern time, 12:30am Central, (Monday) 11:30pm Mountain and 10:30pm Pacific time.  Personally, I will be beginning my fast on Monday July 11th at 4 PM.  I hope you can join me.
