Baked Oatmeal – Easy, Tasty Breakfast!

This is a super simple but yummy breakfast for a busy morning.  Here’s what you have to do:

#1. Toss everything together
#2. Flop into a pan
#3. Pop into the oven
#4. Bake for a little bit, then hurry it to the table, holler “Breakfast is READY!” and…
#5. … settle down for a pleasant meal!

Baked Oatmeal
4 1/2 cups oats
3/4  or 1 cup sucanat (or sugar)
1 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 beaten eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup melted butter
Additional milk (optional)

In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Add remaining wet ingredients and stir until well mixed.

Pour into a greased 9×13 casserole dish.

Bake at 350° for 30-45 minutes (it will be cooked by 30 minutes, but if you would like it a bit more crunchy and chewy, let it cook until golden).  Serve warm with milk, if you like!

We will be taking a break for the next week or two while we celebrate Sukkot – the Feast of Tabernacles.  We look forward to seeing you after that!

  1. Can’t wait to try this one! Jim hates oatmeal, but I am sure this will change his mind! Thanks for sharing! Blessings…and have a wonderful Tabernacles!!

    1. I hope he does enjoy this recipe:). It is also good when you chop up an apple or two and mix it into the batter… adds a different texture.

Have a wonderful Sukkot too! I am getting so excited! A week+ away camping at Fall Creek Falls (even though we will have to come back here a lot for the animals), spending time with lots of friends, hiking, boating, eating good food, singing and dancing, sitting by the campfire… who isn’t excited???:)

      YHWH bless you guys, Ruthie
