Blue Skies And Sunshine

Hello Ladies,

Today I am sharing more pictures from my sister Hannah!  She and Ruthie sewed this outfit together and several weeks ago when we were at the Ocoee River, Ruthie snapped some pictures of it!  Have any of you ever been to the Ocoee River?  It is a beautiful area.

Hannah got a pair of jeans from the thrift store for $1.  She cut the top of off them so that she could use the waist band for her skirt.  She and Ruthie then sewed on the different tiers.

When the skirt was complete, Ruthie sewed this tunic top to match with the skirt!

Hannah braided her hair and had it up in a Hues Of Blue flexi clip.  She wore a Clean Cotton tichel from Hannah’s Headcoverings and a pair of Lilla Rose Princess Tiara bobby pins to hold it on.  For a tutorial of this style, please CLICK HERE.

Goodbye until next time!

P.S. There’s a Lilla Rose sale happening right now … 10% off everything and 30% off select items.  Plus they have added some new headbands and bobby pins to the catalog!  You can order here!

    1. Oh my, that is so neat! I am pretty sure Hannah got the fabric from Hancocks, but it might have been Jo-Anns! Was your skirt only the flower material … or was it several different ones? Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!

  1. Very beautiful! Not many Christian women cover their heads and dress modestly… I mean, not as many that don’t.
Can I ask, would your beliefs align with the beliefs of Messianic Jews?

    1. Hi Lauren, thank you for your comment. Some people would associate us with messianic Judaism and some of our beliefs are similar but we’re not Jewish. We believe in observing the Torah/commandments – whatever we have the ability to do – and we believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah and Savior of the world. In a nutshell, we try to follow the whole Bible 🙂

  2. Oh, what a delightful skirt! I simply LOVE the idea of using the waistband from a pair of jeans and have tucked that idea away for future use 🙂

Beautiful outfit and the colors are perfect for summer. Thanks for sharing with Roses of Inspiration. Hugs to you!

  3. I love the skirt . I’m a skirt only girl. I live near the Ocoee river. Its a beautiful place. When you go back you need to eat at white water grill.

    1. Thank you for commenting Kim. Yes, the Ocoee is a beautiful place. We were actually there again recently and we were planning on stopping by the “White Water Grill” (some friends told us about it), but we were wanting to get home and so decided not to that time! Maybe next time:) Blessings.

  4. This outfit looks perfect!! And I love the hair!!
Very pretty area, I have never been, but maybe one day I get to see it in person 🙂
